On the venous side, the marginal sinus continues into the vein at the corresponding postaxial margin, i.e. the basilic vein in the arm and the small saphenous vein in the lower limb. The cephalic and great saphenous veins travel along the pre-axial margins and appear as secondary blood vessels.
